The Foundation was created inspired on the work of Esther Donatila Diaz. In 1996 along with friends and relatives Mrs. Diaz started offering food and presents during Christmas season to children in need in the neighborhood where Mrs. Diaz born Celendin-Cajamarca. After a few years, and since the foundation got more support from people who collaborated with the fundraisings, this noble labor start to expanded to nearby towns. Towns like Chumuch, Yanacancha, El Aliso, etc became part of the target, and since then low-income families from Lima, Trujillo and Apurimac has been included.

Now after 27 years, ED Sowing Hope is donating presents, clothing and food to over 3,000 children, all of that with fundraising activities in USA. The toys delivery and food preparation is closely coordinated with local churches, Community Associations and Club of Mothers.
